Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station formerly dedicated on January 12, 2008
A culmination of seven years of design and eight years of construction, the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station was formerly dedicated on January 12, 2008 and marked the 50th anniversary of the International Geophysical Year, when the first scientists took residence at the very first South Pole station, and the beginning of International Polar Year 2007-2008, a large scientific program focused on the Arctic and the Antarctic from March 2007 to March 2009. |

Popular Science Magazine recently named the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station as one of Best of What's New 2007 for Engineering
The Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station designed by Ferraro Choi was named as one of Popular Science Magazine's Best of What's New for 2007 in Engineering. The South Pole project was named alongside seven other engineering marvels including the Golden Gate Bridge Seismic Retrofit,
Britain's multiplex Wembley Stadium,
Qatar's 984-foot-tall Aspire Tower, and Northern Ireland's SeaGen marine current tidal turbine.

"i-Tiki" CANSTRUCTION® 2007
A team from Ferraro Choi recently participated and had a great time at the 2007 Second Annual Canstruction® Competition at the Pearlridge Shopping Center, Aiea, Hawaii. Canstruction® is a design/build competition held in North America and serves as an international community service project to fight hunger. |
