CRAZY SHIRTS
Aiea Sugar Mill
Concept Sustainable Master Plan,
Redevelopment and Historic Restoration
Aiea, Hawaii
Ferraro Choi was selected by this local retailer to develop a master plan for the mixed-use redevelopment and historic restoration of the Aiea Sugar Mill processing plant property purchased by Crazy Shirts. The program called for the renovation of the cavernous sugar plant for the company's headquarters, t-shirt manufacturing, storage, and display of the owners unique toy collection. The 11 acre site was to be developed in a sustainable manner as a combined corporate and community park featuring a restored sugar cane hauling train with visitor tours for both the grounds and restored historic buildings.
Concept renderings depict the park spaces at night, which featured a large movie projection screen, and conceptual interior sketches of the art departments, toy collection galleries, and tour-group bridges over the manufacturing process plant.
