2005 LEED-NC® PLATINUM CERTIFICATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DESIGN

The Hawaii Gateway Energy Center (HGEC) is an excellent example of sustainable "green building" architecture. Winner of the 2006 Northwest & Pacific Region of the AIA Citation Award and the 2005 Honolulu AIA Award of Excellence for Sustainable Design. The HGEC Project also achieved the 2005 United States Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED-NC® Platinum Certification, one of only 81 projects worldwide and the only project in Hawaii to achieve such status. The Hawaii Gateway Energy Center was also named as one of the Top Ten Green Projects for 2007 by the AIA Committee on the Environment (COTE).

For more information on this project, refer to our Sustainable Architecture and Case Studies sections.
